"Critterlight" is a  sampling of  photographs that I have made from 1999 to the present. The birds and animals depicted here were all photographed in various natural areas on Long Island, where I live. In all cases the animals are wild and unrestrained,  and in their natural habitat.

The images are grouped into three categories: Woodland Birds, Shorebirds, and Wildlife. They are in no specific order, or displayed according to any particular species or variety. Not very scientific, but my purpose is solely to demonstrate the incredible beauty of these animals as I saw them. For those who know a great deal about birds/wildlife, or for someone who is just curious about them, I hope the pictures offer the viewer some enjoyment. My non-avian wildlife images are few in number, due to the fact that most of my time in the field is spent with birds.

If you are a photo editor, please contact me about image use, and licensing fees for such use. I have a fairly extensive collection of many additional species that are not shown on this web site.

I also offer these and other images as archival ink jet display prints from 8" x 10", up to 16" x 21". Please contact me for further information concerning print media, pricing, image details, and delivery.

When referring to an image, please make note of the reference number after the species name.

For those interested, these images were made with Nikon equipment. Some older images were shot with a Nikon F100 using Fuji Provia 100 , and then scanned on a Nikon SC 5000 ED. More recently and since the camera was introduced in 2004, all of my images were produced with the D2x and D2xs digital cameras. Recently, I have added a Nikon D500 to my camera bag, and now use it as my main body. It is remarkable! I have a complete arsenal of Nikon lenses, and most frequently use the 600mm F4 AF-S, with a 1.4 teleconverter. The images are altered minimally, and represent what I saw through my viewfinder very accurately.

Hearing from those who visit this site is always a pleasure, so please feel free to contact me at any time. I am not a bird expert, so if my ID is questionable, let me know!

IMPORTANT: Out of respect and fairness to those who are willing/able to pay for my images, I no longer donate material for any reason.
